Phoenix Dentist Implements New Technology for Patient Comfort

PHOENIX, AZ --(Marketwired - January 25, 2016) - The days of having a sore jaw at the dentist can now be over. A Phoenix dentist who provides short-term orthodontics has recently added technology to make patients' dental trips easier and more comfortable.

The new technology, Isodry by Isolite Systems, allows the patients to rest their jaw in an opened position while isolating the tongue from the teeth being treated. The device includes a built-in suction system to make it easier for the dentist to rinse and clean the area being worked on.

"Some of our patients have trouble keeping their mouths open for long periods of time because it causes discomfort in their jaw," said Dr. Tim Anastassatos, who operates the Phoenix dental office Healthy Smiles. "With the new Isodry tool, patients can put their mouth in an open resting position without having to strain their jaw in the process."

Dr. Anastassatos said the Isodry gives the practice hands-free suction. The Isodry mouthpiece not only opens the patient's mouth without the risk of injury, but it also positions the mouth in a way that minimizes the risk of debris reaching the patient's throat.

"The new device keeps our patients more comfortable in the chair and makes our jobs more efficient," Dr. Anastassatos said. "As we find new ways to become more efficient, we reduce patient discomfort and overall treatment time. With all of those positives, I'd say the Isodry is one of the best investments I've made for patient care in a long time."

Healthy Smiles has two dental locations -- in Ahwatukee and Arcadia. Healthy Smiles' main office -- 4350 E. Ray Rd., Bldg. 5, Ste. 122 -- is a 1,800-square-foot dental office equipped with the latest technology in dentistry. The second Healthy Smiles location is at 3409 N. 56th St., Ste. A.
